In a quiet Ridgeland neighborhood, the life of 76-year-old Vicky McDowell came to a tragic and unexpected end. On a Sunday evening in early August 2024, police were called to a home on Orleans Circle, where they discovered a grim scene. Inside the residence, Vicky McDowell had been fatally shot. Her life was taken by her own son, 43-year-old William McDowell, in what investigators have described as an apparent murder-suicide.
