On February 4, 2023, 50-year-old Stanley Green Jr. was fatally shot while attempting to prevent a car break-in near his residence on Buena Vista Street in Highland Park, Michigan. Early that morning, Green's girlfriend heard a loud noise outside, prompting him to investigate. Upon confronting an individual attempting to break into a neighbor's vehicle, Green was shot and killed.
