In the late hours of a Thursday evening in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the life of 42-year-old Tyquincy Tymain McFerrin, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On May 18, 2023, officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety were dispatched to the Fox Ridge Apartments on Fox Ridge Drive, just north of Alamo Avenue, following reports of a shooting after 10 p.m.. Upon arrival, they discovered McFerrin suffering from a gunshot wound.
