On an autumn night in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the life of 18-year-old Jason Whetstone was tragically cut short. On October 2, 2021, Jason was at a party on East Maple Street with his girlfriend when an altercation ensued. A 24-year-old Western Michigan University student named Maliek Hargrave began acting aggressively toward's Jason's girlfriend and questioned Jason about a possible rival gang affiliation.
