On October 6, 2023, at approximately 12:43 a.m., Grosse Pointe Woods police responded to a reported shooting at a residence in the 1800 block of Brys Drive. Upon arrival, officers found 19-year-old Dennis "Denny" Doheny with a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
