On December 11, 2023, Cornell Emmanuel Squires, a 42-year-old resident of Detroit, Michigan, was fatally shot in a tragic incident that occurred near his home. The shooting took place around 9 a.m. in the 3000 block of S. Electric in southwest Detroit. Squires was walking to the backyard of his home when he was approached and shot by an unidentified suspect.
