On February 16, 2024, Veronica Crain, a 19-year-old resident of Canton, Michigan, was fatally shot at a hotel where she worked. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at the Comfort Suites on Haggerty Road. Police found Crain behind the front desk suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, and she was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after emergency responders arrived.
