The incident occurred in the late afternoon when officers responded to a disturbance call near Willard Road and Sprague Street. Upon arrival, they found Antonio Moran lying unresponsive in the roadway. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. This marked the first homicide of the year in Winston-Salem.
