A trip to the Michigan State Fair on a late summer evening turned into a tragedy for 14-year-old Darean Davis. On August 31, 2024, the young man from Detroit was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan, where the fair was being held. Another 14-year-old friend who was with him at the time was also struck by gunfire but survived his injuries.
