On a Thursday evening in Detroit, the Christian family was driving home from their son's basketball practice, their black Ram pickup truck a familiar sight on the I-75. Inside, two-year-old Brison Romelo Christian was securely fastened in his car seat, a happy and playful toddler known for his love of Spongebob and Oreo cookies. In an instant, their ordinary drive turned into a nightmare. Gunfire erupted, shattering the evening and the family's life.
