In the evening chill of January 24, 2023, the life of 18-year-old Marquis Edward Stuckey, a Black male, was tragically cut short on the streets of East Baltimore. At approximately 6:15 p.m., the sharp report of gunfire prompted a ShotSpotter alert in the 1700 block of Lamont Avenue, drawing officers from the Baltimore Police Department to the scene.
There they found the young man suffering from gunshot wounds.
Stuckey was rushed to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be too severe, and he was pronounced dead. The untimely death of the teenager, who was born on October 23, 2004, sent ripples of grief through his family and the wider community. Family and friends gathered to mourn his passing and celebrate his memory at a funeral service held on February 7, 2023.
As of now, the individuals responsible for Marquis Edward Stuckey's death remain at large. The Baltimore Police Department's Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case, but no arrests have been made and no suspects have been publicly identified.
