On the evening of October 5, 2020, a burst of gunfire shattered the night in a Baltimore neighborhood, leaving a young man's life cut tragically short. Rico Benton Jr., a 23-year-old Black male, was found unconscious with gunshot wounds in the 2000 block of Whistler Avenue. The call to police came in around 8:30 p.m., and upon their arrival, officers discovered the grim scene. Medical personnel pronounced Benton dead at the location.
