On March 6, 2023, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Baltimore Police officers responded to reports of a shooting at Joseph E. Lee Park, located near Patterson High School in the 5900 block of East Pratt Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 16-year-old Patterson High School student Izaiah Jaydin Carter suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Carter was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 2:39 p.m.
