request of Daniel Ayim Amponsah, Frempong's 27-year-old nephew who was visiting from Greensboro, North Carolina. The atmosphere within the home grew increasingly tense as Amponsah became agitated. His agitation escalated to a critical point when he produced a handgun and began threatening his family members. The terrifying scene culminated in Amponsah shooting his uncle, Kofi Frempong.
As the fatal shot was fired, the remaining family members fled the residence in a state of panic and fear.
