On August 20, 2023, at approximately 3:05 a.m., Baltimore police officers responded to reports of gunfire and a ShotSpotter alert in the 800 block of Guilford Avenue in the Mount Vernon neighborhood. Upon arrival, they discovered two victims in the parking lot of Mount Vernon Market Center.

One of the victims was identified as 25-year-old Navontay Whitener. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the shooting. The second victim, 26-year-old Kashay Davis, was also critically in ...Read More
