In the early hours of August 24, 2023, the life of 26-year-old Myron Anthony White, a Black male from Baltimore, Maryland, was tragically cut short. At approximately 1:05 a.m., a Shot Spotter alert drew Western District patrol officers to the 2200 block of West North Avenue. There, they discovered both White and another 26-year-old man, Darius Alante Hill, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both men were rushed to local hospitals for medical attention.
Initially, one of the victims was pronounced dead, while the other was listed in critical condition. On August 28, the Baltimore Police Department confirmed that both White and Hill had succumbed to their injuries. An investigation determined that White was shot in the back of the head, the bullet fracturing his skull and passing through his brain. Hill sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the right side of his abdomen.
In connection with the double homicide, authorities arrested Khaleb Edmonds, who was 25 at the time. Edmonds has since been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and firearm use in the deaths of White and Hill. His trial began in June 2025. During the trial, forensic pathologists testified that the shootings likely did not occur at close range. The trial has seen testimony from Edmonds' ex-girlfriend and is ongoing. Homicide detectives have continued to ask for anyone with information to come forward.
