In the summer of 2019, the life of 15-year-old Carlos Liverpoole Jr. was tragically cut short in Southwest Baltimore. On the morning of Monday, July 22, his body was discovered by a neighbor behind a home on Ellicott Drive. The young man, who had recently graduated from Calverton Middle School with aspirations of starting high school and getting a job, had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Carlos was remembered by his mother, Shiretta Henderson, as not just a
son, but a best friend. In the days following his death, she made an emotional plea to the public for any information that might lead to the person or persons responsible for her son's murder. 'I just hope whoever did it, that they just come forward, come forward for closure,' she stated, the pain of her loss palpable. His family recalled a vibrant young man who dreamed of playing sports, particularly basketball, creating music, and one day going to college.
Baltimore detectives promptly began an investigation, canvassing the area and speaking with local families in an effort to uncover leads. They urged anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it might seem, to contact them or to leave an anonymous tip with Metro Crime Stoppers.
