Death by Force

On August 26, 2023, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Prince George's County Police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 14700 block of Willoughby Road in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Amarnae Ciata Smith of Baltimore suffering from gunshot wounds. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, an adult male, was also found with gunshot injuries; he was transported to a hospital for treatment and was expected to survive.
