In the late summer afternoon of September 5, 2023, a burst of violence shattered the peace in the 2900 block of Brinkley Road in Temple Hills, Maryland, leaving a young man's life cut tragically short. Responding to reports of a shooting at approximately 2:40 p.m., Prince George's County Police officers arrived to find 19-year-old Davier Tucker of Fort Washington suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital, but his injuries proved too severe, and he succumbed to them several hours later. Davier was a Black male.
The investigation into the death of Davier Tucker moved swiftly. Detectives from the Homicide Unit diligently worked the case, and their efforts soon led them to identify two suspects. The preliminary investigation revealed a chilling sequence of events: one individual was believed to have shot Tucker, while the other acted as the getaway driver.
It was also determined that the suspects and the victim were known to each other, suggesting a pre-existing relationship that ended in violence.
Within a week of the fatal shooting, authorities announced a significant breakthrough in the case. On September 12, 2023, the Prince George's County Police Department confirmed the arrests of two 18-year-old suspects. Carlos Jordan of Temple Hills was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder and other related charges for his alleged role as the shooter. His associate, Desmann Aikens of Capitol Heights, was also apprehended and charged with accessory after the fact. Following their arrests, both Jordan and Aikens were placed in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
