On September 29, 2023, at approximately 12:14 a.m., a tragic incident occurred in Baltimore's Federal Hill neighborhood, resulting in the death of 23-year-old Ryan Alexander Demby, an off-duty deputy with the Howard County Sheriff's Office. Demby was shot and killed at a bar in the 1100 block of South Charles Street following an argument that broke out among other patrons.
