In the early morning hours of November 25, 2023, tragedy struck in Southwest Baltimore when 21-year-old Charles J. Johnson V, a male, and his 20-year-old fiancée, Eniyah Smith, were fatally shot. The incident occurred around 5:05 a.m. on the 300 block of Chapel Gate Lane.
Responding to reports of a shooting, Baltimore Police Department officers arrived at the scene to find both Johnson and Smith suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.
Emergency medical services were rendered at the location, and both victims were then transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, both Charles J. Johnson V and Eniyah Smith were pronounced dead at the hospital.
