On November 26, 2023, 18-year-old Carlos Carrazana-Ricardo, a senior at J.P. McCaskey High School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, traveled to Baltimore with a friend to inspect a 2006 Acura TL listed on Facebook Marketplace. The meeting took place around 7:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Harlem Avenue, where they met with the seller, 18-year-old Marques Harris, and his brother.
