In the early afternoon of a December day, a dispute in a parking lot in Largo, Maryland, escalated to a fatal conclusion. On December 11, 2023, 18-year-old Marquise Williams, a male from Landover, was shot and killed. The incident, which unfolded around 12:30 p.m. on the 600 block of Harry S. Truman Drive, left another man injured.
When officers from the Prince George's County Police Department arrived at the scene, they discovered Williams in the parking lot, suffering from a gunshot
wound. Despite any attempts to render aid, he was pronounced dead at the location. The second man who had been shot was transported to a local hospital for treatment and was subsequently released.
The preliminary investigation into the shooting suggested a grim scenario where both men had fired upon each other during the course of their argument. Homicide detectives took charge of the investigation and were reported to be in consultation with the Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office to determine what, if any, criminal charges would be filed in connection with the fatal encounter. Authorities have not publicly announced any arrests or the identity of the other individual involved in the incident.
