On a Thursday evening, February 8, 2024, in Hyattsville, Maryland, the life of two-year-old Jeremy Poou-Caceres was tragically cut short. While on a walk with his mother, Rose Carceras, near the Bedford Station Apartments on Kanawha Street, they were caught in the crossfire of a shootout. The young boy was fatally wounded, and his mother sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The incident stemmed from a dispute between two groups, reportedly over drug distribution territory.
