On April 15, 2024, at approximately 5:34 a.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a fire at the Highland Commons apartment complex on Roosevelt Avenue in Aberdeen, Maryland. Upon extinguishing the blaze, authorities discovered the bodies of 54-year-old John C. Claytor, 48-year-old Talaya D. Wiley, and 45-year-old Melissa L. Williams.
