On August 1, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Hagerstown Police responded to a shooting in the 300 block of North Jonathan Street. Upon arrival, officers found 45-year-old Tyrone Earl Nelson of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, suffering from gunshot wounds. Nelson was transported to Meritus Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
