On September 23, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a tragic incident occurred in Mount Rainier, Maryland, resulting in the death of 22-year-old Freiver Yanez-Salas from Washington, D.C. The shooting took place outside a liquor store in the 3400 block of Rhode Island Avenue. Yanez-Salas was found inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
