In the autumn of 2024, a young man's life was cut short on the streets of Baltimore. Abdullah Barber-El Jr., a 21-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on the evening of October 25th. The incident occurred at approximately 9:08 p.m. near the intersection of Washington Boulevard and South Monroe Street. When police officers arrived at the scene, they found Abdullah suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite the immediate medical attention he received, his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced deceased at the location of the shooting.
The Baltimore Police Department's Homicide Unit is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding Abdullah's death.
