Police were called to the 2200 block of Falls Road at approximately 11:57 a.m. on December 26, where they found Brockington's body. Medics who arrived at the scene pronounced him deceased.
His death was not immediately classified, but after his body was taken to the Medical Examiner's Office, an autopsy revealed
the tragic truth of his final moments. The medical examiner determined that Darius Brockington had died from a fatal gunshot wound, and his death was officially ruled a homicide. He had been reported missing shortly after Christmas, and his discovery brought a sad end to the search.
