On February 21, 2023, 5-year-old Elijo "Eli" Gonzalez tragically lost his life in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, after accidentally shooting himself with an unsecured firearm in his home near 29th and National.

At the time of the incident, Elijo was under the supervision of his uncle, 58-year-old Bryan Jaensch, while his father, 35-year-old Jose Gonzalez, was at work.
