On June 5, 2023, Tonesha Brown, a 45-year-old woman from Milwaukee, was shot and killed in a violent incident that has raised concerns about gun violence in the city. The shooting occurred around 9:45 p.m. near the intersection of Medford and Baldwin streets. Upon arrival, police found Brown suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced her dead at the scene. Another woman, aged 33, was also injured during the shooting but survived and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
