On a tragic Saturday afternoon in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the lives of two women were cut short in a violent act that ended in the death of the perpetrator. Laila Thomas, a 32-year-old Black female, was fatally shot on December 16, 2017. The incident, which unfolded around 4 p.m. near the intersection of North 24th Street and West Auer Avenue, was the result of a domestic dispute that escalated to a double homicide and suicide.
