On a summer morning in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the life of 24-year-old Shadea Green, a Black/African American female, was tragically cut short. On June 11, 2023, at approximately 10:40 a.m., Green was found shot in a car outside her home near 84th and Marion. Her death was quickly determined by police to be a result of domestic violence, marking the eighth such fatality in the city that year.
Remembered by her mother, Iris Williams, as a caring, outgoing, and protective person, Green
leaves behind a young daughter, Shavea. The child was shared with the man who is now the primary suspect in her death, her 33-year-old live-in boyfriend. Williams revealed that this was not the first instance of violence in their relationship, stating that he had previously broken her daughter's jaw.
The day after Green’s death, Milwaukee police surrounded an apartment complex near the scene, believing the suspect was inside. After a lengthy standoff, it was determined that the suspect was not at the location, and his whereabouts remained unknown. Law enforcement has since identified the suspect as 33-year-old Anthony Ross. The U.S. Marshals have joined the search for Ross, who is wanted for felony gun possession and is a person of interest in Green's homicide. Authorities believe he may be in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he is from and is known to law enforcement. Ross is described as being 6 feet tall, weighing 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He is considered armed and dangerous. As of the latest available reports, no arrests have been made, and the search for Anthony Ross continues.
