In the late hours of a Friday in Racine, Wisconsin, the life of 29-year-old Cassandra Sims, a Black female, was tragically cut short. On August 11, 2023, Sims, a beloved daycare owner, was at her home with her young son when she was shot and killed. The incident unfolded in what authorities have described as a murder-suicide.
