In the late hours of a Thursday night in northwest Oklahoma City, a disturbance at an apartment complex shattered the evening's quiet. On October 26, 2023, police were called to the scene in the 1000 block of NW 88th St., where they discovered the body of 53-year-old Thelma Johnson, a Black female. She had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
