In the winter of 2025, the life of 19-year-old Promise Michelle Celie Cooper, a young woman filled with hope and anticipating the birth of her daughter, Miracle Michelle Marie, was tragically cut short. On February 11th, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Promise, a female, was fatally wounded by a gunshot. In the moments leading up to her death, a palpable sense of fear for her safety was evident in a 911 call she placed, reporting that her boyfriend was threatening her and searching for her at her
apartment. Despite this desperate plea for help, she was tragically unable to be reached by responding officers.
Following the shooting, Promise was transported to a local hospital by her 22-year-old boyfriend, Tristan Stoner. Initially, Stoner allegedly attempted to mislead investigators, claiming that Promise had been the victim of a random drive-by shooting, struck by a bullet that came through the window of their vehicle from a gray car. However, inconsistencies in his account and further investigation by the Midwest City Police Department soon pointed to a more sinister and personal motive. A search of Stoner's phone reportedly uncovered messages he had sent to Promise, demanding that she have an abortion, revealing his anger and distress over her pregnancy.
As the investigation progressed, Tristan Stoner was arrested and subsequently charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of his pregnant girlfriend. It was also revealed that Stoner had a history of domestic violence allegations, with previous cases reportedly being dismissed due to a lack of witness cooperation. The tragic death of Promise and her unborn child left her family and community heartbroken, as they mourned the loss of a young woman described as having a radiant soul and a deep sense of spirituality. Her family is now left to seek justice for the two lives that were taken.
