In the early morning hours of Sunday, July 28, 2024, a tragedy unfolded in an Aldi parking lot in East Tulsa that cut short the life of a young man. Jose Gomez Ramos, a 20-year-old male, was discovered in the parking lot near 21st and 129th Avenue with a fatal gunshot wound to his head. When Tulsa police officers arrived at the scene around 3:30 a.m. following a shooting report, they found Ramos deceased.
The initial investigation pointed to a suspect who had already fled the scene.
Through their diligent work, investigators identified Shelby Wayne Trimble as the individual allegedly responsible for the death of Jose Gomez Ramos. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and charges of first-degree murder were filed against him.
For nearly a week, Trimble remained at large. The search for him concluded on a Friday evening when he was taken into custody by law enforcement. Following his arrest, Shelby Wayne Trimble was booked into the Tulsa County Jail, where he is being held without bond. The case is now proceeding through the legal system.
