In the winter of 2015, a young man's life was tragically cut short in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Robert Eugene Singleton Jr., a 27-year-old construction worker, was shot and killed on February 16, 2015. His death was not a random act of violence, but rather the culmination of a domestic dispute.
The events leading to Singleton's death began to unfold at an east Tulsa apartment complex. He had spent the night with his son and the child's mother.
The woman had recently ended a two-year, on-and-off relationship with another man, Cameron Jerel Hendrick.
The following morning, after learning that Singleton had been at his ex-girlfriend's apartment, Hendrick went to the residence. An altercation ensued, and in the courtyard of the apartment complex, Hendrick fatally shot Singleton.
Following the shooting, Cameron Jerel Hendrick was arrested and subsequently charged with the murder of Robert Singleton Jr. He was later convicted of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm after a felony conviction for his role in the fatal shooting.
