In the early morning hours of August 7, 2024, a stray bullet tragically ended the life of 72-year-old Kathleen Cade, a retired teacher, as she slept in her northwest Oklahoma City home. A concerned family member requested a welfare check later that day when they couldn't get in touch with her. When police arrived at her residence at 4036 NW 36th St., they found Cade in her bed with what initially appeared to be a head laceration.
