In Oklahoma City, a weekend gathering turned into a scene of tragedy, marking the untimely death of a 2-year-old girl. The toddler, identified as Khani Rodriguez, was at a northwest Oklahoma City apartment on a Sunday morning when a firearm discharged. The incident occurred on March 22, 2026, near Northwest 39th and Youngs Boulevard.
Authorities reported that a 22-year-old man was handling a gun in the presence of several children when the weapon fired, fatally wounding young Khani.
Police responded to the scene around 10:30 a.m. and the child's death was confirmed.
