On April 10, 2023, at approximately 3:45 a.m., Columbus police responded to a reported shooting in the 200 block of South Eureka Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 22-year-old Joshua Farmer unresponsive with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene. A 47-year-old woman, identified as Farmer's mother, was also found with multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Grant Medical Center in stable condition.
