On April 19, 2023, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Columbus police responded to a shooting incident on Knightsway Lane in east Columbus, Ohio. The victim, identified as 41-year-old Antron Pointer, was found with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
Pointer was immediately rushed to Grant Medical Center, where he underwent emergency surgery. Despite initial reports suggesting he might survive his injuries, Pointer tragically succumbed to his wounds on April 21, 2023, at 9:38 p.m., two days
after the shooting.
The suspect in this case was identified as Heather Taylor, who was reportedly Pointer's girlfriend. Initially, Taylor was charged with felony assault on the night of the shooting. However, following Pointer's death, the case was transferred to homicide detectives, and Taylor now faces murder charges.
It's worth noting that Taylor had initially bonded out of jail before Pointer's death.
