On June 10, 2023, 16-year-old Jarrell "Buddy" Martavious Russell was fatally shot in an alley on North Guilford Avenue in the Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. Investigators believe an argument escalated into gunfire, resulting in his death.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with Jarrell's death. His mother, Tamekia Jackson, has publicly pleaded for anyone with information to come forward, expressing her profound grief and confusion over the loss of her son. ...
