On June 18, 2023, 8-year-old Nolan Mason Combs was found with a gunshot wound at his home on Fieldstone Drive in Dayton, Ohio. He was transported to Dayton Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His mother, 34-year-old Melissa Hensley, was also found deceased at the scene.
Preliminary autopsy reports from the Montgomery County Coroner's Office indicated that Hensley shot her son before turning the gun on herself. Dayton police investigated the incident as a murder-suicide.
