In the quiet of a Tucson, Arizona home, the life of 10-year-old Sebastian Phillip Foye, a male, came to a tragic end on December 18, 2020. The young boy, who was described as happy and healthy, was shot by his father as he slept in his bed. I killed our son,' followed by a texted image of Sebastian with a gunshot wound to his head.
Concern arose when a friend of the father, 40-year-old Phillip Emmanuel Foye, was unable to reach him via text messages or phone calls. This prompted a request for a welfare check at their home on East Palmetto Pointe Trail shortly after midnight on December 19. When Tucson police officers arrived, they received no answer at the door. The situation was initially treated as a possible barricade, leading to the involvement of a SWAT team to gain entry into the residence.
Once inside, authorities made a devastating discovery. They found Phillip Foye deceased from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A further search of the home led them to the body of young Sebastian, who had also suffered fatal gunshot trauma. Investigators quickly determined that the incident was a murder-suicide, with Phillip Foye being the sole suspect in his son's death. No arrests were made as the perpetrator had taken his own life. The investigation revealed that the father and son lived at the home with an adult woman, believed to be Sebastian's mother, who was not present at the time of the shooting. There was no prior history of abuse or neglect reports involving the family with the Department of Child Safety.
