On a late Saturday afternoon in Tucson, Arizona, on May 16, 2020, a verbal dispute outside a market escalated into a fatal, gang-related shooting that claimed the life of 29-year-old Omar Rascon. The incident unfolded at approximately 3:45 p.m. at a market located at 4129 E. 29th Street.
Rascon, a male, was at the market with a female companion when an argument broke out with the driver of a pickup truck who was also at the location with a passenger.
The verbal altercation quickly intensified, leading to an exchange of gunfire between Rascon and the driver of the truck. In the aftermath, Rascon and his female companion fled the scene and drove to Banner University Medical Center South Campus. Both had sustained gunshot wounds.
