In the early hours of January 3, 2022, a burst of gunfire on Tucson's south side shattered the night and forever altered the lives of a local family. Twenty-year-old Marco Antonio Medina Moreno, a Hispanic male, was caught in the violence. He sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Banner-University Medical Center for emergency treatment. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Medina Moreno succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead.
