On July 9, 2023, 19-year-old Terry Lee Martin Jr. was fatally shot in a drive-by incident at his residence on Gladstone Street in Moraine, Ohio. The shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m., with approximately ten rounds fired into the home, five of which penetrated the front door. Martin was struck three times in the head and neck while standing behind his grandmother, who was seated near the front door but fortunately remained unharmed.
The investigation revealed that the shooting stemmed from a social media feud between Martin and 19-year-old Eric D. Ball II, a former classmate from Kettering Fairmont High School. Ball allegedly drove past Martin's home, discharging multiple rounds from a .40 caliber Glock into the residence. He was arrested the following day and charged with murder, involuntary manslaughter, improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation, and other related offenses.
In August 2024, Ball pleaded guilty to one count of murder. Although he initially filed a motion to withdraw his plea, he later withdrew that motion. On October 23, 2024, Ball was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for Martin's death.
Born on October 17, 2003, Terry "Junior" Martin Jr. was remembered for his vibrant personality and deep love for his family. He is survived by his parents, Robyn Birt-Feeman and Terry Martin Sr.; siblings Jacob Birt, Johnny, Jerett, and Jerika Wells; and several nieces and nephews.
