On October 29, 2023, 17-year-old Anthony Elliott from Cleveland, Ohio, was fatally shot during an altercation at Versified Expressions Poetry Cafe on Romig Road in Akron. The incident began as a verbal dispute inside the venue during a rap performance, which escalated into a physical confrontation in the parking lot, where multiple shots were fired. Elliott sustained several gunshot wounds and was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 10 p.m. ...
