On February 26, 2024, 42-year-old Jerry D. Spencer was found deceased inside a vehicle on Carplin Place near Reading Road in Cincinnati's Avondale neighborhood. Responding to reports of a shooting around 5 p.m., Cincinnati police officers arrived at the scene, where Cincinnati Fire Department personnel pronounced Spencer dead. The Cincinnati Police Department's Homicide Unit initiated an investigation into the incident.
